VolumeVault is built on a simple principle: your audio stays yours.
Data collection: none
- VolumeVault does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.
- Audio is processed entirely on your device using the Web Audio API. Nothing is
recorded, uploaded, or sent anywhere. VolumeVault makes zero network requests.
- The only thing stored is your preferred volume level per website (
chrome.storage.local,
on your device only) so it can be remembered between visits.
Permissions
- activeTab / scripting — to route the current tab's audio through a local gain node
when you click "Boost this tab". Used only on your explicit action.
- storage — remembers your per-site volume levels locally.
