HuePick — Privacy Policy

HuePick is built on a simple principle: a color picker has no business talking to the internet.
Data collection: none
- HuePick makes zero network requests. It never contacts any server — ours or anyone else's.
- It collects no personal data, no browsing history, no URLs, no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reports.
- It contains no third-party code, SDKs, or trackers of any kind.
What stays on your device
- Your palette history (last 30 picked colors) is stored in your browser's local extension storage
(
chrome.storage.local) on your own device.
- On Chromium, picking uses the browser's built-in EyeDropper API — the pixel is read by the browser itself, not by our code.
- On Firefox, picking captures a screenshot of the visible tab in memory only, lets you click
a pixel, then discards the image. The screenshot is never saved, transmitted, or stored.
- You can delete your history at any time with the Clear button in the popup.
Permissions — why each one exists
- activeTab — lets the picker capture the current tab's pixels only after you click "Pick a color". No background tab access, ever.
- scripting — injects the picker overlay into the current tab only after you click "Pick a color" (Firefox path).
- storage — saves your palette history locally on your device.
HuePick requests no host permissions — it cannot read or modify any website except in the moment you explicitly ask it to pick a color.
